Adequate handwashing stations not available for employees [s. 21(4)]
Observation: Hand washing station closest to service area not functioning. Operator mentioned that it has not been functioning for a few days and that the repair service has been contacted. Hand washing station at back of bakery department is being used in the meantime.
Correction: Repair the hand washing station closest to the service area to ensure staff are washing their hands at adequate frequencies prior to handling ready-to-eat baked items and to prevent cross-contamination. Ensure all staff is aware that gloves are not an alternative to adequate handwashing and that gloves must be changed every time they are potentially contaminated. Hands must be washed with liquid soap and warm water and dried with a single-use paper towel every time gloves are changed/replaced.

Follow-up Inspection Conducted

Observations:
- General sanitation of premises is satisfactory
- No signs of pests during time of inspection
- Hand washing station at front area of bakery (near bread slicer) has been repaired to dispense hot and cold running water and is supplied with liquid soap and paper towel. Ensure all hand washing stations are always functioning to dispense hot and cold running water.
