Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): 1) Low temperature dishwasher measured 0ppm chlorine after three tries. New bucket of sanitizer was changed after first cycle ran. 2) A few wet wiping clothes were stored on the counter. Repeat. 3) Kitchen sanitizer and spray bottle in the dining room all measured over 200ppm.
Corrective Action(s): 1) Owner called technician immeidately for service but was able to fix the dishwasher at end of inspection. 100ppm chlorine detected at plate level. Low temperature dishwasher require 50-100ppm chlorine at plate level. 2) Store wet wiping clothes in 100ppm sanitizer when not in use. 3) Ensure to use test strip to verify 100ppm, this is adequate for food contact surface. Do not exceed 100ppm. Label spray bottles (markers are coming off).

Observation: No hot water in kitchen handwash station.

Observation: Kitchen handsink has no hot water. Owner informed that there was a leak in the crawlspace and plumber identified the cause is the hot water and has since turned the hot water valve off. The plumber is scheduled to return next Monday to repair the hot water issue. All other sinks (two compartment sinks, staff washroom, bar handwash station, dishwasher and washroom) has hot water.
Corrective Action(s): Restore hot water in kitchen handsink asap and contact health unit next week to confirm it is done.

Observation: Mice droppings noted behind ice machine and in closet beside back door. No pest control company servicing restaurant, operator's brother looks after the facility if there are issues.
Corrective Action(s): Please remove droppings, add sticky trap and monitor for pest activity. If pest activity is active after mice droppings are removed, you will be required to have the restaurant assesed professionally and obtain pest control service.

Observation: Screen door was not in use and back door was open at time of inspection. When screen door is pulled, there is a 1-2 inch gap identified vertically along the door. Ice machine is immediately beside the back door where droppings were found behind the ice machine.
Corrective Action(s): Seal the door gap vertically as discussed to prevent pest entry.

Observation: Aluminum foil used to line the counter in the bar where blender and equipment are stored.

Observation: One ceiling light is out (above standup freezer), and two ceiling lights in the dry storage room in the back are missing covers. Floor and wall tiles around dishpit have been broken when plumber was investigating cause of water leak in the crawlspace. Please repair/replace tiles when repair work is finished.
Corrective Action(s): Replace ceiling light and covers.
