Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Not Applicable
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation: During inspection Licensing reviewed children's records and noted 3 children either were missing their start date, or had an incomplete start date documented.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure complete start dates are documented in the children's files which are missing this information.
Date to be Corrected: May 2, 2019.


Comments

At the inspection dated April 3, 2019 there were 6 children and 3 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified.
Licensee to ensure start dates are accurately documented for all children enrolled at the facility.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.

Lead in Drinking Water Information Sheet

During inspection Licensing observed children: eating snack, then engage in free play in the outdoor play area which consisted of conducting a science experiment with rain water, playing on slides, engaging in dramatic play etc.

During inspection Licensing observed staff interacting with children while they were engaged in activities, spontaneously singing, giving warnings before transitions etc.
