Routine inspection conducted. Facility is cluttered and generally not well maintained - there is AN EXCESSIVE amount of product per the space allotted (allegedly 750 square feet).
- Front beverage cooler at 4C
- Chest freezers (front of store, back of store, storage room) vary from -13 to -18C
- Stand-up upright freezer at -18C
- Operator states that frozen fish is purchased in large bags, then weighed on weigh scales, then directly sold to the consumer
- Rice bags and canned items are intact, no evidence of damage at time of inspection - good
- Holes in back entrance appear to have been sealed
NOTE: Operator claims no repackaging is done on-site. Previous evidence of repackaging, including vacuum sealers, were not noted at time of inspection. Remember: You are not approved for any re-packaging. Operator claims that smaller unlabelled bags come directly from manufacturer - these bags must be labelled. There are currently still numerous products that are not labelled - although no scoops or bags are present on premise. If you order from a manufacturer and sell the product to the consumer, the product should be appropriately labelled (e.g. with common name, date of packaging, manufacturer, net weight, etc.). Recent invoices provided at time of inspection.
The following also require your immediate attention:
- Unclutter your store. There is too much stock, leading to the possibility of harborage sites. Too many boxes are being placed on the floor instead of directly on shelving
- Label all of your products. Since you do not repackage them, you need to label each product appropriately
A follow-up inspection will be conducted to ensure that you have complied with health requirements. Provide all remaining invoices for review in follow-up inspection. |
