304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: A very small amount of rodent droppings was observed on the floor behind the extra items not required for business use. All food storage areas and processing areas were free of rodent droppings at the time of inspection. No damage to the food products was present at the time of inspection. Operator mentioned they sealed the gap in the front entrance door and had caught a mouse in October 2017.
Corrective Action(s): Clean the affected area with bleach water to remove the rodent droppings and continue monitoring for signs of recent pest activity; Correct today. Implement pest control measures (regular cleaning ,sealing entry points, decluttering the extra items, contracting pest control if repeat droppings are observed, and protect food and food contact surfaces from contamination). The area behind the extra items will be assessed for sanitation once these items have been removed from the food premises.

Observation: Multiple extra bins and shelving for the bins was stored onsite behind the three wooden pallets with dry flour. Operator mentioned that they would remove these items over the next few months once they have the capacity to ship them out.
Corrective Action(s): Contact the district EHO for a follow up inspection over the next two months once you have removed the extra items not required for business use (i.e. for the food processing operation). Correct by April 16, 2018.

Comments

Handsinks in the production area and washroom were supplied with liquid soap, hot and cold running water, and paper towels.
3-compartment sink was operational. A drain plug was available for setting up 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer.
Bleach was available on-site and operator was able to setup 100 ppm chlorine sanitizer in a container.
Dry food packaging was in an intact condition.
Bill of lading for the product delivery was available on-site.
Repackaged product was in clean labelled packaging materials.
Food safety plan and sanitation plan was revised and updated at the time of inspection.
