Comments

During today’s inspection one staff, the manger and 5 children were on site.

Licensing notes that it appears that the previously identified contraventions have been appropriately addressed as follows:
· Healthy and Safe Environment including-
o Backyard- stepping logs have been moved away from the rock wall, the exposed nails have been removed, and the swings have been tied up and out of use, as the climbing structure is dug deep into the ground and unable to be moved at this time. The manager is working on a long time goal, Licensing discussed there is no requirements to have climbing structures, as active play can be achieved in many other ways.
o Inside- moon lamp taken off wall, and all electrical outlets are covered
· All staff’s certificates have been verified and a copy of the validation placed in file
· Fire drill documentation shows that a recent fire drill was practiced and recorded for July 2018
· A temporary placement application was submitted and approved allowing for a 4th child under the age of 36 months to attend the facility. Support plan is being followed as evident
today with 2 staff being on site. Exemption is current until August 31, 2018
· Manager discussed that they ensure all children participate in a proper hygiene practice, this was observed today, before children had snack.
· Active Play and Screen Use Policies have been created and implemented

Discussions held today include:
- Active and Positive Supervision
- Continuous supervision during food consumption – Daily Schedule
- Reportable Incident Reporting Policy to be updated –Licensing provided resource
- Exemption and Temporary Placements, are reviewed and approved based on the plan submitted- Licensing explained that there is no set in stone plan, but Licensing will review submitted plan and make a decision based on the mitigated risk of the situation.
- Amendments to the parent handbook are underway (making a universal handbook for all 3 Licensed Facilities)
- Please contact Licensing in the future to discuss the possibility of name change
