Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Noted bean sprouts and alfalfa sprouts in open face produce cooler unit at approx 12C.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure all sprouts are stored at 4C or less. This issue was noted on the previous inspection report.

302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): No drain plugs available for two compartment sink. Staff said they use a large container to submerge knives used for trimming. This is acceptable in the interim but drain plugs will be needed to facilitate proper warewashing.
Corrective Action(s): Obtain two drain plugs.

Observation: Noted open recovering door. No deliveries were being received at time of inspection.
Corrective Action(s): Keep back door closed or install a screen to prevent the entry of pests. This issue was noted on the previous inspection.

Observation: Staff washroom door opens into the repackaging area.
Corrective Action(s): Fix/install self closing hinge/device to ensure washroom door automatically closes.

Comments

Hand wash station in staff washroom had soap, paper towel, hot and cold running water.
Soap, paper towel, hot and cold running water available at two compartment sink.
Bleach on site with test strips. See violation code 302 re: drain plugs
Freezers -14C to -19C
Upright reach in cooler units 4C or less (only units with perishable foods such as dairy stored in them)
Open face produce coolers 10C to 14C (only whole produce permitted to be stored in them unless able to maintain 4C or less) - See violation code 205 re: sprouts.
No obvious signs of pest activity noted at time of inspection. Premises has contract with a professional pest control company. Follow all recommendations made by pest control technician - See violation code 305 re: back door
