Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): - Vegetable display cooler at 13C during time of inspection
- Operator informed that breaker tripped and has been reset
- If breaker tripped again service will be called
- Whole vegetables stored within cooler
Corrective Action(s): - Ensure that all cold holding temperatures are cold holding at 4C or below
- Temperature decreasing after breaker reset

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Paper towels not available or difficult to access at several handwashing stations throughout premises. For example:
- Handwashing stations at dry goods area located in the back
- Handwashing station located opposite of produce walk-in cooler
Staff corrected during time of inspection
Corrective Action(s): REMEMBER that ALL handwashing stations must be supplied with an adequate supply of hot/cold running water, liquid soap and paper towels (easy to access) at ALL times

212 - Operator has not provided acceptable written food handling procedures [s. 23]
Observation: - Several bins of achar vegetables (pickled vegetables) were stored in centre islands for sale.
- Operator informed that they use a commercial kitchen to preparation
- Pickled vegetables had an ambient temperature of 14C
- No Food Safety Plan was submitted and storage conditions are not adequate
- Operator removed all three containers of Achar to be discarded
Corrective Action(s): Before pickled vegetables can be displayed for sale the following must be submitted to Health Department.
1. Food Safety Plan of PICKLED VEGETABLE

2. If you can planning to make the pickled vegetables at a commercial kitchen, you must submit a contract to Health Department confirming rental of kitchen in addition to dates and processes for the food product

3. If you plan to make pickled vegetables on-site, you must submit a proposed floor plan which identifies:
a. all sinks and handwashing stations that will be used
b. preparation areas/ tables
c. storage areas

YOU MUST OBTAIN HEALTH APPROVAL BEFORE SELLING THIS TO THE PUBLIC.

Observation: 1. Some rodent droppings observed on bottom of skids where rice bags were stored
2. In corner where scythes (gardening/ crop tools) are stored located underneath bulk dispensing bins
- No food contact surfaces, food products were affected
Corrective Action(s): - Ensure to remove all droppings in the areas mentioned
- Continue clean and maintain hard to reach areas
- Ensure that staff follow a daily cleaning check list

- All temperatures meet health requirements:

* Front display freezers at -18C
* Walk in cooler (whole fruit and veg) at 3C
- Bleach available on-site ***

Notes:
- Operator to email service reports from Pest Control Operator during next follow up inspection
- Operator planning on replacing display coolers and freezers by summer (operator is changing to more efficient coolers)
