Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted on July 20, 2023 to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were reviewed for compliance.

Contraventions

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13010 - CCLR s.22(1)(a) - A licensee must (a) ensure that a community care facility has (i) emergency exits that meet the requirements of the BC Building Code, and (ii) a fire drill system that is approved as definedby section 31 of the Fire Services Act.
Observation: Upon inspection, the fire extinguisher had not been serviced yearly.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure the fire extinguisher is maintained.

Comments

At the inspection dated July 20, 2023 there were 2 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified. The Licensee will provide Licensing with a written response.Licensing will review the response. As part of this Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment was completed and a copy was provided.

Licensing conducted a walk-through of the entire facility.

Valid CRC's are available.
