Routine inspection conducted:
Facility is a water bottle filling operation and provides 2 services:
1) Operator-provided water bottle filling. Customers obtain filled water jugs from premises and then return them when empty to pick up newly filled jugs. The empty jugs are washed, rinsed, and sanitized in the back room with a detergent, hot water rinse, and hydrogen peroxide at 3%.
2) Self fill water station where customers bring their own water jugs or the store provided bottles to one of the six self-fill stations in the front area. Operator demonstrated with an empty jug to verify that there is an air gap between the bottles (lip-surface) and nozzle.
After the customer uses the self-fill station, operator sanitizes the nozzle with a solution of bleach & water (1/2 tsp bleach per litre of water). Bleach water bottle sanitizer stored underneath handsink in front area was at 100 ppm chlorine residual.
Notice has been posted that contaminated and/or damaged bottles are not to be accepted for the recycling program.
Handwash station in front area equipped with hot/cold running water, liquid soap, and paper towels. Customers are encouraged to wash hands before using self fill station.
General sanitation of back room is good, all bottles stored off floor.
Operator will be posting sign by the self serve station to remind customers not to touch nozzles. Operator has also indicated she will be sending e-mail to customers letting them know about the rules surrounding the self fill station nozzles. |
