Observation:
There are two burned out light bulbs in the main food processing area, the light level is very low. This is a safety hazard to staff (unable to see what they are doing), and it is difficult to see where areas are dirty.
Corrective Action(s):
Replace all burned out light bulbs so the light level is above 15 footcandles in food processing areas.

Comments

A routine inspection was conducted, the following observations were made:
- Coolers 4C or colder; freezers -15C or colder; hot holding units above 60C; thermometers present; and temperatures recorded daily.
- It is recommended that "corrective action" is written down on the temperature recording sheet to prove action was taken to address the concern.
- Quats sanitizer in spray bottle was 200ppm.
- Hand sinks stocked with liquid soap, paper towels, and running hot and cold water.
- 3-compartment sink used for dishwashing, soap and sanitizer present.
- All foods stored in food grade containers; covered; labeled; date coded; food stored in groups with proteins separate or below RTE foods; and foods stored 6" off the floor on shelves, racks or platforms.
- No expired foods in use. FIFO rules being followed.
- City Fire Dept and Building Dept, and Technical BC has approved premises without exhaust hood to remove heat, odor, steam and grease laden vapors.
- Sanitation level is good. All surfaces, floors and walls are clean and absent of grease and food.
- Wood table tops have been resurfaced with stainless steel. Good.
- No signs of pests. Professional pest company routinely services premises.
- FoodSafe certified staff present. Ensure staff have valid certificates (expiration date required on certificates), if not, enroll into the next FoodSafe Level 1 course.
