Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was completed to assess compliance with the: Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Residential
Care Regulation (RCR), and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSOP). Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing
Officer’s observations, review of the facility records, and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.

Care systems reviewed during inspections include:

Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control

Nutrition and Food Services

Records & Reporting

As part of the routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance
identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance and operation.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 32010 - RCR s.37(1)(a) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation: Review of the staff file indicates one staff person is missing their CRC, the CRC on file is from a different organization
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure staff file is complete
Date to be Corrected: August 3, 2023

STAFFING: 32210 - RCR s.43(1)(a) - A licensee must ensure that persons in care have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.
Observation: One applicable staff member does not have their valid first aid
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure relevant staff hold a valid first aid
Date to be Corrected: July 15, 2023

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 33230 - RCR s.85(1)(b) - A licensee must do all of the following: (b) review and, if necessary, revise the policies and procedures at least once each year.
Observation: Review of the Policies and Procedures indicates several are due for yearly review May 2023. Leadership is aware and person who is responsible for the review is in the process of completing the review.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure all Policies and Policies have had their yearly review.
