Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated Mar 22, 2019 there were 7 children and 2 staff present. At this inspection no contraventions were identified.
During inspection Licensing noted that there is one section of fencing, in the outdoor area, which has begun to lean. Licensing put pressure on the fence and noted that it did not move. Licensee stated that they have put a plan in place to address this issue.
During inspection Licensing observed children engage in free play, have snack and then engage in free play in the outdoor area.
During inspection Licensing observed staff interacting with children while they were engaged in activities; spontaneously read books/ sing songs, as well as give warnings before times of transition.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
