Observation:
The 3-comp sink tap, in the Produce processing area, is constantly dripping cold water. This creates a damp area for pests to breed, and will provide a water source for rodents to drink from.
Corrective Action(s):
Repair or replace the tap so that it can fully turn cold water on and off.

Comments

A routine inspection was completed:
- Coolers 4C or colder; freezers -18C or colder; thermometers present; and temps electronically monitored.
- Hand sinks stocked with liquid soap, paper towels, and running hot and cold water.
- Quats sanitizer in spray bottles and 3-comp sink had strength of 200ppm. Test strips present.
- High temperature dishwasher (for bulk food dept.) had a rinse temperature of 78.4C at the plate's surface, as per max/min thermometer.
- All foods stored in food grade containers; covered; labelled; date coded; foods stored in groups; and foods stored 6" off the floor on shelves, racks or pallets.
- No expired foods in use or for sale. FIFO rules being followed.
- Non-food items (cleaners, pet foods, stationary, beauty products, etc.) are stored away and/or separately from food items.
- Adequate number of scoops and tongs present for self-serve areas.
- General sanitation level is good.
- No signs of pests.
- All surfaces and equipment are in good working order.

ACTION
- Repair or replace the dripping tap in the Produce processing area.
- Accumulated debris under pallets of food in the back overflow storage areas in the hallways and back areas. Increase the frequency these areas are swept.
- Accumulated debris under pallets in the grocery store walk-in-freezer. Increase the frequency these areas are swept.
