Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Rice in the rice cooker was at 38C. Rice was made the previous night and reheated in the rice cooker.
Corrective Action(s): Potentially hazardous foods must be reheated to 74C rapidly and hot held at/or above 60C to prevent the growth of pathogens and/or the formation of toxins. Water was added to the rice cooker and rice was reheated to greater than 74C at the time of inspection.

302 - Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Facility had run out of bleach. Only bleach was in the spray bottle and tested at 200ppm. Dishes and equipment in the 2-compartment sink we washed but not sanitized.
Corrective Action(s): All equipment, dishware, and utensils must be washed and sanitized to prevent potential cross contamination. Operator obtained bleach at the time of inspection. Operator must check cleaning and sanitizing supplies on a daily basis and always have sufficient stock of bleach sanitizer available on-site at all times. Not have bleach sanitizer on-site may result in a Closure Order being issued to the facility.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Back handwash station did not have any single use paper towels.
Corrective Action(s): Handwash stations must be accessible and supplied with hot and cold running water, liquid hand soap, and single use paper towels to facilitate proper handwashing. Single use paper towels were replaced at the time of inspection.

Observation: Facility has altered the menu and is cooking meat products on portable stoves/induction units.
Corrective Action(s): Facility must ensure the following: [be] equipped with ventilation equipment that is adequate to prevent the accumulation of smoke, grease, water vapour and objectionable odours. Contact the City of Surrey Fire Services and City of Surrey Building department regarding potential fire suppression and ventillation requirements and obtain confirmation in writing (email or letter). If ventillation or fire suppression systems are required, facility must either add fire suppression/ventillation equipment or cease preparing foods which produce grease and water vapours.

-Prep cooler was at 4C (top and bottom).
-Front upright cooler was at 4C.
-Back upright freezer was at -16C.
-The following equipment is not being used: back upright cooler, back under counter cooler, front ice cream freezer.
-Staff member stated customers are being served with single use utensils and dishware. Only personal/reasonable amounts of reusable dishware/utensils can be kept on-site for personal use.
-General sanitation good at the time of inspection.
-No signs of pests noted at the time of inspection.
-FOODSAFE Level 1 equivalence valid until June 21, 2028.
*City of Surrey Business Licence is issued for a seating capacity of 12. Facility currently has 19 chairs and a table with bench seating available in the dining area. Ensure facility complies with the City of Surrey Business Licence requirements.
