PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation: The Licensing Officer observed a climbing structure with a slide located on grass in the children's outdoor play area. This structure is over 18" high and must be removed or relocated onto resilient ground cover to prevent any injuries from falls.

Corrective Action(s): The Licensing Officer provided the Licensee with a copy of the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice - Safe Play Spaces which addresses resilient ground cover and height of equipment. The child care facility has an onsite outdoor play area however the program is not using this space on a daily basis. The staff and children have been going on neighbourhood walks or attending local parks.
