Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice. Evidence for this report was based on the writer's observations, review of the facility records, and information provided by the facility staff at the time of the inspection.

The following areas were reviewed:
Licensing
Physical Facility
Staffing
Policies and Procedures
Care and Supervision
Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
Medication
Nutrition and Food Services
Program
Records and Reporting

As part of this routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The risk assessment includes any violations identified during the routine inpsection, and a 3 year 'historical' review of the facility's compliance and operation.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

The Facility Manager was not present for today's inspection; please ensure a copy of this report is provided to the Facility Manager upon their return.

Upon review of all the programs the writer has found the Licensee in full compliance with the legislative requirements. The writer would like to acknowledge the hard work by staff and management in achieving this status. The staff informed the writer the facility was closed last week to conduct various maintenance items and for staff professional development. The program is exploring ways in which they can bring the outdoors inside and to provide additional programming outdoors.

The writer provided to and reviewed with staff the resource Live 5210; additional information may be located on Fraser Health's website.
