Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were reviewed for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #KSEY-AY5N58 have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation: During inspection Licensing reviewed children's registration forms and noted 4 children are missing their start/ enrollment dates.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure the missing start dates are listed on the children's registration forms.

Comments

At the inspection dated April 10, 2019 there were 6 children and 1 staff present. At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified.
Licensee to review child files and ensure start date is recorded for all children currently attending.
Licensee stated when they are playing in their outside area, they stand close to the slide when children are using it.
As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
During inspection Licensing observed children were engaged in free play and a circle time which included stories, music & movement.
During inspection Licensing observed staff interacting with children while they were engaged in activities.
