Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11190 - CCLR s.16(4)(b) - A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation: Upon inspection of the outdoor play equipment, there were loose bolts on the stepping equipment, rotting perimeter and a loose hand rail on the climbing equipment.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to the children are free from hazards and in good repair.

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated Oct 24, 2019 there were 9 children and 2 staff present. Licensee stated that there are approximately 25 children registered in the program. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. Licensee will provide a written response to Licensing.Licensing will review the response. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
