Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: 13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation: Licensing observed there was no water in the emergency supplies
Corrective Action(s): The Licensee said he had just disposed of the water bottles because they had expired and plans to replace them immediately.

At this inspection, there were 2 children and the Licensee present, At this inspection, the above contravention was identified.

As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed.

- Children's Files (photos and emergency contacts)

The information contained in the report was discussed with the Licensee and the report and risk assessment were written on-site. Licensing advised that copies of the report and risk assessment would be emailed to the facility.
