Introduction

A scheduled Follow Up inspection to Routine Inspection #WBET-AVZP39 was conducted.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Contraventions observed on FIR #WBET-AVZP39 have been corrected.
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.
Observed Violations
LICENSING: 10020 - CCLR s.10(2)(a) - Licensees must not make any structural change to a community care facility unless the licensee first (a) submits plans for the change to a medical health officer.
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A new kitchen counter has been installed in the Group Child Care (30 mos-school age) kitchen and the fridge has been moved into the play room as the counter takes up the space the fridge was in. The licensee did not inform Licensing that this counter was going to be installed. Licensing explained to the manager that any permanent structural renovations to the facility must be approved by licensing before change are made. The manager stated she understands this and will let Licensing know before any changes are made.

Comments

The Licensee would like to build a pony wall so that families do not have to walk through one program to get to the other. Floor plans have been submitted to Licensing and have been approved. Licensing told the manager that once the walls have been built usable play space will be measured. The manager stated as part of these renovations the fridge will be taken out of the play area.
Licensing discussed how to place furniture, cubbies etc so that space is best utilized with the manager.
Please let Licensing know when the pony wall has been built and a follow up inspection will be conducted.
