This inspection report was completed off site (0.5 hr) and emailed along with the Risk Assessment to the facility the same day.
The following education/recommendations were provided in regards to:
-Cleaning and Sanitizing Policies and Practices
-Health & Hygiene Practices ( Handwashing, Cough and Sneeze Etiquette)
-Physical Distancing Ideas
-Precautions and Practices for Sick Children
LO provided the Resource Package for Child Care Facilities COVID-19 Prevention, including:
-Educational Hand Washing Posters
-Cleaning and Disinfecting in Childcare Setting
-Guidance in the Selection of Cleaners, Sanitizers or Disinfectants
LO observed and discussed the following with Manager on-site:
-New hire: to ensure that staff file is complete, i.e. resume, immunization record status, character references, certificates or evidence of training/skill and criminal record check by the CRRP.
-Continue to monitor and maintain proper sanitization for all high-touch surfaces, toys and equipment including any soft and porous materials used in the facility; such items still need to be properly cleaned and disinfected by laundering in a washing machine with hot water and dry in a clothes dryer on a hot cycle if children are using them.
- Bleach and Water Bottle: to refer to provided resource from BC Ministry of Health, re: cleaning and disinfectants for public settings. To properly measure and mix the solutions, i.e. 10 ml bleach to 990 ml water. This cleaning spray bottle should be labelled and kept out of reach of children at all times.
- Active Supervision: to carefully plan and set up the environment and to anticipate children's behaviours and abilities, specially in Multi-Age setting in order to practice active supervision with children in care.
-Sleeping Areas: to always keep and maintain the sleeping area/arrangements in a clean and sanitary manner, i.e. blanket and sheets for children should not be touching each other and must be laundered regularly ( at least once a week, or more often if soiled or visibly dirty).
Thank you for your time during today's inspection. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, or need additional support. LO’s business card was provided.
