Evidence for this report was based on the Licensing Officer’s observations, review of the facility records and information provided by the facility staff at the time of inspection.
The following areas were reviewed:
· Licensing
· Physical Facility
· Staffing
· Polices & Procedures
· Care & Supervision
· Hygiene and Communicable Disease Control
· Medication
· Nutrition and Food Services
· Program
· Records and Reporting
As part of the routine inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided. The Risk Assessment includes non-compliance identified during the routine inspection and a 3 year “historical” review of the facility’s compliance and operation.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection - Not Applicable
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
STAFFING: 12160 - CCLR s.20(1) - The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation: Licensing found that an individual who provides specialized activities for the children did not have a Criminal Record Check from the Criminal Record Review Agency in Victoria. The manager stated that this individual is not left alone with children and only attends the facility for an hour a week.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure that the all staff are screen as required.
Date to be Corrected: November 17, 2016.

Comments

Licensing reviewed the photographs of children and found that some of the photographs are old. These children require an updated photograph as children to reflect how they look now.
Please check the list of what is required in a first aid kit. A first aid kit must have enough supplies for a staff to care for the child in the event of an injury.
Thank you for your assistance today.
