Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care & Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulation (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSP). All care categories were inspected for compliance.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation: Files for six children were reviewed. One file was missing immunization status.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure immunization status is available in all files.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation: Files for six children were reviewed. The name and telephone number for an emergency contact was not available in one file.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure information for an emergency contact is available in all files.

Comments

Summary of Inspection
At the inspection dated February 7, 2022 there were four children and two staff present. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified. The Licensee will take action to bring the facility into compliance and provide a written response to the Licensing Officer. The Licensing Officer will review the response. As part of this routine inspection, a facility risk assessment tool is completed and a copy is provided. This report was reviewed with the manager and written off site. A copy of this report will be emailed to the manager. Total time includes office time.
The following education/recommendations were provided:
· Having a hard copy of children's photographs in case the electronic device fails.
· Label all bottles of cleaning solutions with the contents.
