Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Hand blender in use stored in a container of stagnant water.

Take-out container inventory stored in staff washroom.
Corrective Action(s): Staff removed handblender from water and placed in dishwasher to be cleaned and sanitized.

Do not store food utensils in stagnant water as bacteria can quickly grow on surfaces. Utensils in use can be stored dry or an ice filled containers.

Staff removed take-out containers from staff washroom.

Dry food inventory and food containers / utensils are to be stored safely in dry storage shelving available to protect against contamination.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Carton of frozen dairy product thawing at room temperature.
Corrective Action(s): Staff moved product to cooler unit to thaw at safe temperature.

Frozen foods are to be thawed safely in a cooler unit at 4 C, in a clean sink under flowing cold water or using a microwave (small portions only).
