Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Spoon present inside of the chili powder container.
Corrective Action(s): Spoon removed. Ensure that no foreign objects / spoons are lodged inside of the chili powder. Store all scoops / spoons outside to protect food from contamination.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted of Khalsa School Cafeteria and the surrounding areas. Minimal food present at time of inspection, and no food preparation was occurring. The following was observed:
Walk-in cooler at 4C
Chest freezer at -18C
Hand wash station adequately stocked with hot/cold running water, liquid soap, and single-use paper towels. New hand wash stations were obtained throughout the building as a renovation
Facility manager demonstrated proper method of yielding a 200 ppm chlorine bleach solution
High-temperature dishwasher sanitizes at a final rinse cycle of 77C at the plate (minimum: 71C)
Utensils in excellent sanitary condition; ventilation canopy is well maintained and is free of any accumulating grease
Areas behind, and underneath, cook line and dishpit areas are generally in good sanitary condition
As instructed, all dry storage items were placed inside containers with tight-fitted lids
Organization inside chest freezers have improved significantly. All items are in original, packaged containers and no open/exposed food products were observed inside. No grocery bags / garbage bags used to store food products - good
No recent, visible signs of pest activity was noted at time of inspection. Mechanical traps checked throughout the facility, including the dry storage area and kitchen area, did not reveal any signs of rodents. Locked cabinets outside of the kitchen were opened and no pest activity / droppings were observed inside
Previously requested fixtures, including metal bar between the two doors and rubber baseboard are still in good condition
Chef on-site when kitchen in operation has FoodSafe 1 (Expiry: July 28, 2023)

The following also require your attention:
Small amount of mould has accumulated in left compartment of two-compartment sink. Remove the mould with a strong bleach solution
