Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Small container of unknown liquid attractant for baiting flies placed directly on work surface.
Corrective Action(s): Liquid was removed at time of inspection. Do not place containers of baits directly on work surfaces, as it can result in contamination of food.

304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: Moderate amounts of fruit flies observed hovering on and around compost bin.
Corrective Action(s): Consult a professional pest control company on removal of flies, including but not limited to the use of fly traps. As stated under code 305, the main deterrent for fly activity is removing the source of organic material / odour.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Compost bins near produce area are attracting fruit flies.
Corrective Action(s): Compost bins were removed at time of inspection. If compost bins are not currently in use, ensure that a firm lid is placed on it to reduce odour. Place compost in a designated location and frequently empty the bin.

314 - Operator has not provided acceptable written sanitation procedures [s. 24]
Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Refrigerator labelled "Bucha Brew" in the middle of store aisle with two taps observed on premise. No prior approvals were given for customer's self-serving kombucha.
Corrective Action(s): Operator has volunterily decided to terminate dispensation of kombucha from taps. Kombucha tap system was removed at time of inspection. Do not supply kombucha on tap unless health approval is granted.

Routine inspection conducted for food store.

- All temperatures meet health requirements:
Open display coolers, all glass-door cooler compartments and walk-in cooler compartment at 4C or less, including mini coolers (e.g. Tropicana)
Chest freezers, display freezers, open freezer compartments all at -18C or below
WARNING: Infant formula and meal supplements supplied on store shelving is expired and were removed at time of inspection
- All items in store elevated at least 6" off floor
- Bulk storage area in sanitary condition. Bins are either gravity fed or have individualized scoops with holster
- Aisles are organized and premise is generally maintained in good sanitary condition
- Produce area is in sanitary condition. Handwash station stocked with hot/cold running water, liquid soap, and single-use paper towels. 3-compartment sink in sanitary condition
- Quats sanitizer available with test strips, sanitizer solution at 200 ppm

The following requires your attention:
- No logs were recently taken for sanitizer concentration. Ensure that this is routinely kept up-to-date to ensure that there is always "Sani-Stuff" present for sanitizing cutting boards and work surfaces
