Observation: The waste pipe, under the 2-comp sink is not permanently connected/plumbed into a waste pipe. A bucket is placed under the sink to catch the waste water, and the bucket is emptied throughout the day. This does NOT meet the Plumbing and Building Codes, and it exposed food to black water.
Corrective Action(s): Immediately connect the sink to a waste water pipe.

311 - Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)]
Observation: 1) Peeling paint on the floor, which is exposing raw cement. Raw/unsealed cement will absorb foods and attract pests.
2) There are chipped ceramic tiles along the wall, above the counter tops. The ceramic tiles will absorb foods and attract pests.
Corrective Action(s): 1) Reseal the floor so it is durable, smooth, sealed and cleanable.

2) Replace all chipped, cracked and/or damaged ceramic wall tiles with new ones. Ensure they are sealed, durable, level and cleanable.

Comments

A routine inspection was completed, the following observations were made:
- Sink had running hot and cold water, liquid soap, and paper towels.
- General sanitation level is good. No signs of pests.
- Fridges was 3C or colder; freezers was -16C or colder; and thermometers present.
- FoodSafe certified staff present.
- Bleach sanitizer in spray bottle had [Cl2] of 100ppm.
- All foods stored in food grade containers; covered; and foods stored 6" off the floor on shelves or racks.
- No expired foods in use or for sale. FIFO rules being followed.
- Chaffing dish present to store cooked wieners and hamburger patties.
- FSP and SP present.
- Prepackaged foods sold (ice cream, chips, candy, drinks) and pre-cooked foods (hot dog wieners, hamburgers, chicken burgers) reheated and sold.
