Comments

- Warehouse for storage and distribution of packaged dry, refrigerated and frozen product. No food processing.
- Manager reported distribution is within BC as well to other distribution facilities in Canada (Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto)
- Walk-in cooler 2C
- Walk-in freezer -26CC
- Temperature records present and up to date. Manual readings taken twice daily. Automated monitoring is also in place with alert/alarm system in place.
- Temperature of food products are checked prior to receipt with IR thermometer and visually inspected for any damage/pest issues. Receiving report is completed.
- General sanitation satisfactory. An improvement in sanitation of warehouse was noted since previous routine inspection. Some packaging/pallet debris noted in walk-in freezer. Ensure walk-in freezer is routinely cleaned to remove these items.
- Food products were stored on pallets or racking off of the floor. Manager reported that additional racking is being installed to further elevate pallets from floor level.
- Pest control contract in place with service twice weekly. Manager to send copy of most recent service report to EHO.
- Manager reported the following measures were taken since last inspection (Aug 2021):
- Excess items which were present in hallway near walk-in freezer have been removed. Continue to keep warehouse free from clutter/debris.
- Frequency of garbage pick up/disposal increased to daily.
- Identified rodent entrance points were sealed
- Staff washroom (in warehouse) was supplied with warm water, liquid soap and paper towel for handwashing.
