Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted on to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA) and the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DOLSOP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation: Licensing observed two (2) shelves located in the secondary play room that are taller than 4ft and not secure posing a falling hazard
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure any equipment that is taller than 4ft. is secured appropriately.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19060 - CCLR s.57(1)(a)(b)(c) - A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).
Observation: Licensing conducted a review of children's files and noted:
- 2 children were missing a file in it's entirety.
- 2 remaining children's files were reviewed of which 1 was missing an immunization record
Corrective Action(s): -Please ensure to keep current records for each child.
-Please ensure all files are up to date and current.
Date to be Corrected: June 11, 2021


Comments

At the inspection on June 07, 2021 there were 4 children and 1 staff present.
At this inspection, the above noted contraventions were identified.

As part of this Routine Inspection, a Facility Risk Assessment Tool was completed off site and a copy was provided.


The following education was provided:
· Ensuring that anything with a DIN number is removed from the first aid kid or clearly labelled for staff use only, unless permission is obtained from families
