Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP).

Observed Violations
PHYSICAL FACILITY, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS: 11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation: DLSOP Safe Play Space – There are areas in the backyard with limited ground surfacing and underlay paper sticking out creating a tripping hazard.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure there is adequate ground surfacing to cover the paper.

At the inspection dated January 30, 2024 there were 6 children and the licensee present. At this inspection the above contravention was identified. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
