Comments

A routine inspection was conducted, the following observations were made:
- Cooler 6C (decrease to maintain between 0-4C); walk-in-freezer was -5C; thermometers present.
- Hand sink stocked with liquid soap, paper towels, and running hot and cold water.
- General sanitation has improved. No signs of pests.
- Painting of walls has been completed.
- Bleach present for sanitizing surfaces.
- All foods stored 6" off the floor on racks or shelves, and in groups to prevent contamination.
- FoodSafe certified staff present.
- De-clutter and organize space better to improve cleaning ability. Less items present, means less things and surfaces to clean. Store like items together (equipment and food separate). As well, less areas for pests to hide.
- Expansion into the neighboring space is planned for packaging of products for retail sale in grocery stores. Discussed the layout and new equipment with owner. Ensure to submit floor plans to our office and the City of Port Coquitlam for approval prior to any constructions.
- Liquid marinades and dry rubs proposed to be packaged and sold. Ensure lab results for Aw, pH, and shelf life obtained and forwarded our office for the liquid marinades.
- Development of FoodSafety Plans and Sanitation Plan, for the additional food items and/or equipment being added to the expansion, shall be submitted to our office for review and approval.
- Go to CFIA website for information on labeling and HACCP principles.
