Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Peeled garlics stored in produce cooler, which had ambient air temperature measured at ~9'C. Manager had advised peeled garlics are to be stored in the dairy cooler from now on. OK.
Corrective Action(s): Ensure the peeled garlics are stored at/below 4'C at all times.

Comments

Routine inspection conducted:

-Coolers all operating below required temperature of 4'C. Produce cooler operating at 9-12'C (varies for each side) - only whole vegetables are stored in this unit, other than peeled garlics as mentioned above.
-Freezers all operating at/below required temperature of -18'C. Thermometers available for temperature monitoring.
-Bulk bin areas maintained in sanitary condition. Scoops stored in proper manner. Ensure the lids are kept closed at all times. Posting a sign for the customers recommended.
-Prepackaged food aisles maintained in sanitary condition. No concerns observed.
-Back storage area satisfactory. 2 compartment sink equipped properly for manual dishwashing.
-Handwash station for produce area adequately supplied with liquid soap, paper towels and hot/cold running water.
-Washroom handsink satisfactory.
-No evidence of pest activity observed. Traps in place.
-Professional pest control company contracted for regular visits. Recent report to be emailed to the health inspector.

NOTE: Two containers of jaggery had missing lids. Removed from the shelf at this time.
NOTE: Facility receiving deliveries at this time. Ladder to be removed from the walk-in cooler once the organization is finished.

Discussed about pickle preparation, which has been approved by the previous inspector during the inspection conducted on Dec 5, 2018.
Operator had been waiting to hear back from the health inspector after the submission of photos as requested.
