Introduction

Licensing was on site to conduct an unscheduled follow up inspection to review compliance after a written response to the routine inspection contraventions was received.
The Manager was not on site today, but licensing did a walk through of the facility and observed the programs in operation.
the following has been addressed:
10050 - Manager name is now posted at the main entrance
11010 - Individual hand towels are available in all programs and cleaning supplies are no longer accessible to children
12040; 12060 - Manager responded that all staff files are up to date - Licensing wasn't able to review at this time.
14030 - Staff to child ratio is in compliance through an exemption approval
19070; 19100; 19260 - All children's files are complete

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19030 - CCLR s.55(2)(a) - A licensee must notify the medical health officer within 24 hours after (a) a child is involved in, or may have been involved in, a reportable incident described in Schedule H while under the care or supervision of the licensee.
Observation: Licensee did not notify the licensing officer within 24 hours of an incident as described in Schedule H as required. A group child care (under 36 month) program was voluntarily closed due to Covid-19 cases.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure this is reported to Licensing as prescribed.
Date to be Corrected: Immediately


Comments

Licensing observed the following and made a phone call to the Manager and left a voicemail with the following information:
- Staff certification needs to removed from display if no longer employed
- Child car seats should not be stored in the washroom
- A reportable incident is required indicating any closures of programs as a service delivery problem. - Please submit to Licensing

This report was written off site as the manager was not available for signature - the contents of the report were provided via telephone.
