HealthSpace Plunges in to Water Monitoring
August 1, 2009
HealthSpace President, Joe Willmott announced that HealthSpace Integrated Solutions Ltd. and Joule Micro Systems Canada Inc. have amalgamated to form HealthSpace Informatics Ltd.
HealthSpace was founded in 1998 and maintains operations in Canada and in the United States. Its Canadian operations are head quartered in Hope, B.C just outside of Vancouver, and the US operations are head quartered in Glen Allen, Virginia. HealthSpace provides information and communication management systems for environmental, public health and community organizations.
Joule Micro was founded in 1996 and is incorporated in the province of British Columbia, Canada. Joule Micro's Ampora products provide novel solutions for biological event monitoring and real time sensor management in water systems. These products were developed in collaboration with several Canadian universities and the National Research Council of Canada. Ampora technology is affordable and will allow medium to small water systems to do accurate, 24/7, remote water quality monitoring, with real-time electronic reporting over the Internet and other electronic devices, such as cell phones.
The amalgamation of these two companies means that powerful analytical capabilities have been combined with successful technology to provide constant, remote monitoring of water systems. Informatics and monitoring technologies will enable new standards in health reporting that significantly increases the protection of the public. HealthSpace Informatics intends to deliver proprietary products and services to serve the water analysis and health protection industries. The company's objective is to ensure that its customers can identify water contamination and events long before they become tragic accidents. With the acquisition of Joule Micro's technology, the company has the potential to change the way water is managed globally. Using Joule Micro's packaged solution, real time monitoring no longer faces the barrier cost of communication and structure. Biological examination of water, intelligent and continuous analysis, and a full documentation suite will enhance the powers of water purveyors and inspectors alike.
