Bay County Health Department Selects HealthSpace

HealthSpace President, Joe Willmott, announced that Bay County Health Department has accepted the Company's proposal to install an Environmental Health Management Software System for the County Health Department located in Bay City, Michigan.

Currently, the Environmental Health Division of Bay County Health Department uses a proprietary software database system using DB2 subscript for their food service program. The private water supply program is paper based with well logs beings tracked by an internet based application hosted by the State of Michigan. HealthSpace will provide a software solution that will meet the following functional requirements and specifications:

  • Compatibility with Windows operating systems.
  • Able to exchange data with other SQL database programs.
  • Ability to synchronize with networks when re-connecting with a remote device back to the network.
  • Computerized inspections forms for food, service swimming pools, child care and AFC facilities.
  • The system being capable of working either connected or disconnected without becoming dysfunctional.
  • The system having a complete permit application and tracking capability.

Bay County is located in Northern Michigan on the shores of Saginaw Bay of Lake Huron. The Health Department services a population of approximately 110,000 people.

Mr. Willmott stated that we are pleased to have as a client, Bay County Health Department, that is progressive and wants to harness technology to best service the local population. Mr. Willmott went on to say that "The HealthSpace Envirointel Management System is very well suited for Health Departments at the County level due to its flexibility and low cost." HealthSpace Welcomes Erie County as a Client

August 25, 2009

HealthSpace President Joe Willmott announced today that negotiations with Erie County, New York have been completed and HealthSpace has been awarded the contract to supply an environmental health database system for the Health Department division.

The Erie County Health Department encompasses Buffalo, New York and surrounding area. They are responsible for inspecting and permitting approximately 5,000 permanent facilities that are issued yearly permits and 1,000 facilities that are issued temporary permits; some of the inspections are conducted electronically using tablet computers. The Health Department has regulatory requirements and conducts inspections in approximately 40 different programs.

HealthSpace Plunges in to Water Monitoring

HealthSpace President, Joe Willmott announced that HealthSpace Integrated Solutions Ltd. and Joule Micro Systems Canada Inc. have amalgamated to form HealthSpace Informatics Ltd.

HealthSpace was founded in 1998 and maintains operations in Canada and in the United States. Its Canadian operations are head quartered in Hope, B.C just outside of Vancouver, and the US operations are head quartered in Glen Allen, Virginia. HealthSpace provides information and communication management systems for environmental, public health and community organizations.

Joule Micro was founded in 1996 and is incorporated in the province of British Columbia, Canada. Joule Micro's Ampora products provide novel solutions for biological event monitoring and real time sensor management in water systems. These products were developed in collaboration with several Canadian universities and the National Research Council of Canada. Ampora technology is affordable and will allow medium to small water systems to do accurate, 24/7, remote water quality monitoring, with real-time electronic reporting over the Internet and other electronic devices, such as cell phones.

HealthSpace Appoints Stefan Viveen as Operations Manager

HealthSpace President, Joe Willmott announced the appointment of Stefan Viveen as Operations Manager for North America. Mr. Viveen is a professional project manager and systems developer with over 18 year of experience in the financial services (banking industry) and medical services. His greatest skills are the ability to analyze and manage complex projects which result in solutions that are delivered on time and within budget. He possesses excellent communication skills and is a team player with a special interest in customer service.

Mr. Viveen has held senior management positions in Europe, New Zealand and North America.

New Client in Colorado

Pueblo City-County Health Department, Colorado awarded HealthSpace the contract to install an information management system for their environmental health department. Modules include Complaint monitoring, including Tobacco enforcement complaints, Food, Body Art, School Labs, Child Care, On-site sewage inspections, approvals and permitting, Recreational Water, and Hotels and Motels. In addtion, inspectors will be equipped with new computers, enabling them to electronically record inspection data in the field.
