Corrective Action: Additional treatment is required to address physical water quality issues.

Comments:
Although system is well operated and maintenance procedures are appropriate, the physical water quality at times renders the treatment system unable to adequately function. As a result a Boil Advisory was in place for 42 days in Sept - Oct 2016. A water treatment pilot study was completed in 2016 and a report issued recommending options for addressing the water quality, and delivering water treated to the 4,3,2,<1 standard. The operator has a good level of training and attended further training sessions in 2016. Good water sampling frequency in 2016 with 149 treated water samples submitted; 19 were positive for total coliforms. Drainage issue from nearby quarry into watershed has not been addressed yet, partly due to ongoing lockout of workers by management. We anticipate this will be addressed in 2017.
