Observation: 17 Water sample positive for fecal coliform
Corrective Action: Out of a total of 302 treated water samples submitted in 2011, 35 had total coliforms detected and 2 had e. coli bacteria detected. This exceeds the maximum acceptable standard.

Observation: 25 Inadequate treatment for the removal of parasitic cysts of Giardia / Cryptosporidium
Corrective Action: This surface water source is only disinfected with chlorine at present, and is therefore not capable of removing or inactivating Giardia and Cryptosporidium.

Observation: 40 Inadequate treatment to reduce turbidity from silt and organics
Corrective Action: High levels of organics in the source water result in a high chlorine demand and elevated levels of disinfection byproducts in the finished water.

As a result of unacceptable treated water quality there were 2 Boil Advisories issued in 2011 for a total of 61 days.
