Comments:
Met with new water sampler, Debby Denis as former operator, Kent Orock is no longer with the company. From previous inspection report: The water system consists of a 5 micron filter --> UV --> Sock Filter --> Heavy Metal (Metsorb) --> water softener --> Chlorination --> mixing Please continue to monitor the chlorine residuals. No samples were submitted by Lafarge in 2019; only 2 samples submitted in 2020, and no samples have been submitted in 2021 thus far - this must improve as per the Drinking Water Protection Act/Regulation. Sampling instructions were provided to the new water sampler. A water operator is required to operate your water system. Things required from VCH: 1. An updated emergency response and contingency plan as there were recent staff changes within VCH. A template will be emailed to the operator. 2. An annual report is to be completed each calendar year and a copy sent to the Drinking Water Officer by June of each year. 3. A full chemical analysis on the well water to be conducted in 2022. 4. For Lafarge to come up with a way to increase sampling frequency for 2019. Suggestions have been made to get in touch with other Texada water operators who are bringing samples over already.
