Comments:
Inspection of waterworks and opportunity to meet the new caretakers. Kevin Wilson will be operating the water system once he becomes familiarized. He has recently completed the SWS training course through BCWWA. During inspection it was noted the FAC of treated water was lower than desired. As a result some treated water was dumped and the chlorine injection rate was increased. Kevin was to monitor the FAC following this throughout the day. A sample was collected for UVT testing; the result was 48.3%. The high level of organics appears to be affecting the chlorine demand. At this level it would also compromise the UV functionality. The Emergency Response and Contingency Plan needs to be updated before the start of the season to ensure the caretakers contact information is readily available. Good bacteriological water sampling frequency in 2016 and 2017 to date with 63 samples submitted in total. Of these, 2 were positive for low level total coliforms and 0 were positive for e coli.
