Observation: There are 2 missing shatterproof light covers in the kitchen.
Corrective Action: Operator was already aware and covers will be replaced.

Comments:

The following items were completed since last routine inspection on May 18, 2011
1. Quat sanitizing dispenser has been adjusted to deliver correct concentration - test strips are now available on site.
2. Thermo strips are available for checking dishwasher final rinse temperature.
3. Staff have completed Foodsafe Level 1 training - copies Certificates should be provided.
4. The washroom door has been fitted with a self-closing latch.
5. A copy of the menu was provided.

General Observations from today's inspection:
1. General sanitation and maintenance of the facility is good.
2. No issues noted with temperature control - all refrigeration units are meeting requirements (salad station was borderline but operator was already aware).
3. Thermometers noted in all coolers - temperature logs were up-to-date.
4. Hot holding temperature for hot dogs measured >60C.
5. Dishwasher meeting adequate sanitizing temperature during final rinse.
6. Glass washer delivering iodine during final rinse cycle.
7. No issues noted with food storage - all refrigerated items were dated and properly stored to prevent cross-contamination. Dry storage items were off the ground and in pest proof containers. Chemicals are stored separate from foods.
8. There were no signs of pest activity noted - facility is serviced regularly by a pest control company.
9. Hand washing and sanitary facilities were clean and equipped with soap and paper towel.
10. Quat sanitizing solution was available for food contact surfaces.
11. Ventilation system servicing is up-to-date.
12. Food safety plan and sanitation plan are in place.

Currently there are no plans to operate the BBQ station for the summer. Should that change, please contact the health department for a temporary food permit application form.
