 Underlying Problems: System is a shallow well with no treatment. Error in sampling or error in annual routine shock chlorination are currently the suspected causes for contamination.

| Steps Taken to Remedy: June 19, 2023 - Operator has been contacted via phone. The operator was made aware of the adverse sample results and was interviewed to determine potential causes of contamination. The operator asked to resample the next day. An email was provided to summarize the required actions and 1 set of sample requisition forms has been provided.
Operator notified Dianna Vuu that they instead shock chlorinated the water system overnight.
June 20, 2023 - A risk assessment was been conducted by Dianna Vuu in consultation with TL Allison Crowe. As a new accurate sample will not be available until one week after the shock chlorination, a BWN will be issued as a precaution.
Operator has been provided another email outlining the new required corrective actions for the issued BWN. Operator has been provided another set of sample requisition forms.
June 21, 2023 - Operator confirmed that the water users have been notified of the BWN. Signage has been posted.
June 28, 2023 - Operator has confirmed that a sample was submitted on June 27, 2023 (one week ater the date of shock chlorination.
June 30, 2023 - The first satisfactory sample set has been received. | |
| Corrective Actions Remaining: The boil water notice may be lifted once the above actions are completed and Northern Health has received 2 consecutive satisfactory samples that were collected at least 24 hours apart. |
