 Underlying Problems: Unacceptable microbiological water quality results. | |
| Steps Taken to Remedy: Contacted the operator regarding the recent unsatisfactory water sample results, and they informed me that a significant amount of work was recently completed on the water system (e.g., replacing distribution pipes and the pressure tank). However, they were uncertain whether the plumber disinfected the system after the work was completed. | |
| Corrective Actions Remaining: Operator will need to provide public notice to all appropriate parties of the Boil Water Notice, as well as place signs on all publicly accessible taps.
-Additional consultation with an Environmental Health Officer is required.
-Operator needs to determine if the treatment system is operational and make necessary repairs as needed. Shock chlorination may also be required if contamination has occurred.
-At least two satisfactory samples, taken more than 24 hours apart, needs to be provided to Northern Health.
-An up-to-date Emergency Response and Contingency Plan will need to be provided to, and approved by, Northern Health. |
