209 Food not protected from contamination [s. 12(a)]
Observation: Raw potatoes were left in the 3-compartment sink with dirty dishes in the compartment next to it which leaves the food open to contamination. (Public Health significance) - Contamination of food from contact with objects, people, pests or chemicals can cause serious illness.
Corrective Action: Ensure that all food items are washed and processed in a dedicated sink in the three-compartment sink to protect all foods from airborne contaminants, drips from raw foods, and contact with objects and staff. Make sure that dishes are not piled up or washed simultaneously in close proximity.
