301Critical Repeat Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not maintained in sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
Observation: Tape was used throughout the kitchen to "repair" or cover items. Tape is not a cleanable surface and is not approved as a surface in kitchen. Bacteria can grow on the sticky residue that is left from the tape
Corrective Action: Ensure all tape is removed and broken items are replaced or repaired.
304 Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: Evidence of mice; droppings were noted in the facility. (Public Health Significance) Rodents and other pests may cross contaminate foods and surfaces or contaminate human food with feces and urine, carry parasites and other diseases.
Corrective Action: Remove any pest attractants such as food and water, eliminate access to the building and routes they use inside. Trap and remove the pests. The use of a professional pest control operator is recommended. Clean and sanitize area where droppings are located and monitor situation.
311 Repeat Premises not maintained as per approved plans [s. 6(1)(b)]
Observation: Some of the floor tiles have been replaced however there are more broken floor tiles that are no longer clean able. The back entrance is cold and appears to allow cold air and pests into the facility.
Corrective Action: Ensure that the facility is repaired so that it is smooth and easily cleanable, and that seals are put in place for the facility to prevent the entrance of pests.
