Introduction

An unscheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice except for those noted on supplementary pages.

Observed Violations
RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation: Attendance records reviewed observed 1 child not signed in today's date. When reviewing systems related to emergency planning it was included that the sign in sheet would be cross referenced to ensure all children are accounted for.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure attendance records are completed in order to determine whether a child is absent or if present includes time of arrival and departure.

Comments

At the inspection dated Sept 30, 2019 there were 16 children and 2 staff present.At this inspection the above noted contravention was identified.Licensee is requested to respond in writing outlinning measures taken to address the contravention,Licensing to review the response and respond As part of the Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy provided.
Licensing scheduled the inspection with the request to accompanied by 2 Licensing Officers for training purposes.
Report was unable to be completed on site due to computer issues therefore remains unsigned, arrangements were made to provide the completed inspection report via mail.
Children were not observed outdoors however were engaged in gross motor activities within the gym, Licensee stated as children become familiar with their surroundings the outdoor area will be introduced adding some of the children are still attending their first day.
