Licensing observed Staff engaged with children during free play activities and outdoor play. Staff were supportive and used appropriate language when communicating with the children. Appropriate behaviour guidance is in place to support children when necessary.
Licensing observed the children getting ready for outdoors after having free play with a variety of activities. Also observed was the routine of hand washing prior to sitting down for lunch. Parents provide all the food for the children and healthy eating is promoted.

Discussions with the Licensee/Manager:-
- Licensing reviewed the Active Play and Screen Time policies with the Licensee/Manager and discussed some modification required to meet the Director of Licensing Standards of Practice for Active Play.
- Licensing recommends leaving the computer monitor off, which was displaying photographs of the children at the facility. This is considered screen time and children under 2 years of age should not have any screen time at all.
- Licensing also recommends having a fridge thermometer to ensure that children's milk and food is kept at a safe temperature. Also recommended to remove all items with a DIN # in the first aid kit unless parental permission is sought for their use with the children.
- Discussed the requirements for a care plan should a child require additional support.
- Certificate validation has been obtained by phone - Licensing requires a record of validation being obtained to be added to the staff files.
No safety concerns noted at today's inspection.
