Observation: 1. Chemicals (Pine Sol, Sunlight, Shampoo, Tide etc) stored above food items (packaged candy, spices, other foods).
2. Scoops stored in bulk foods bin with handles touching food.
3. Not every bulk food bin has a separate scoop.
Corrective Action(s): 1. Store chemicals below food items to prevent potential contamination.
2. Provide a proper storage for scoops so that the handles do not touch the foods.
3. Provide a scoop for every bin so that there is no cross contamination.
Correction date: 1 week.

304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: Rodent droppings observed in the following areas:
-Above a white cardboard box stored on the shelf where the multi-grains were stored next to the bulk foods.
-On the floor under metal shelving rack in storage room at back.
Pest control service reports provided (Feb 26, Mar 22, Apr 21, 2019) did not indicate whether or not there were any catch. Monthly service contract in place. Catch stations found.

Corrective Action(s): 1. Remove rodent droppings.
2. Clean and sanitize the areas noted.
3. Provide weekly pest control services.
4. Continue to monitor for rodent activity by removing rodent droppings, cleaning and sanitizing the affected areas.

Observation: Food debris and cluttering items noted under the following areas:
1. Under shelf where baked good and disposable forks were stored.
2. Under shelf where chips/beans/peanut were stored.
Cluttering of boxes in back room and office. Items placed on platform but do not allow floors to be cleaned regularly.
Corrective Action(s): -Remove food debris and cluttering items. Clean and sanitize the areas noted above.
-Provide proper shelves to store all boxes and items at least 6" off the floor (storage room and office).
Correction date: 1 week.

Observation: The following areas appeared uncleaned:
-walls surrounding the dishwashing area.
-the areas noted in violation relating conditions that could lead to attraction of pests.
-the floors and surfaces throughout the premises appeared uncleaned.
Corrective Action(s): Clean the areas noted above. Regularly cleaning of floors and general shelving units is required.

Observation: Faucet at the sink was leaking water in the middle section when turned on.
Corrective Action(s): Repair the faucet so that it is no longer leaking.

Observation: Portable stove and and pots were found in the back storage room where the sink was found. No exhaust hood found.

Comments

General Comments:
-no food processing or repackaging observed on site
-Hot and cold water was available at the 2 compartment sink at the back.
-Bleach was present (100ppm bleach can be mixed: half tsp bleach for every 1 L of water). Ensure to sanitize general surfaces, sinks and scoops regularly using 100ppm bleach.
-Coolers were = or < 4C (Walk-in cooler 3C)
-Freezers: Frozen food freezer -15C (double glass door)
