304 - Premises not free of pests [s. 26(a)]
Observation: Rodent droppings (mouse) observed throughout facility (minor to moderate). Mostly observed on floor in hard to reach areas including but not limited to:
- back wall along floor of shelves;
- below and behind dishwasher, dish sinks and hand sink;
- behind bin freezer in back and below stairwell;
Also observed several significant entry points in premises area including:
- hole in wall at electrical conduit/panel below stairwell;
- at stairwell floor interface or connection point;
- gaps in wall behind dishwasher;
- gaps around plumbing pipes at wall interface;
Observed sticky traps and snap traps poorly positioned and unbaited where used.

Corrective Action(s): Actions must be taken to eliminate mouse infestation in food premises area. These should include the following:
1) Clean up all existing mouse droppings;
2) Block off major access points for rodents using material that will prevent rodents from eating through or working around blockage. Steel wool is good around electrical and plumbing networks/pipes and can be used in conjunction with spray foam insulation if applied correctly. Discuss with property owner/manager.
3) Place traps in identified areas of rodent activity, especially along walls and leading to and from confined spaces, proper locating and baiting traps are essential to success.
**do not use poisons for rodent control.
4) If rodent activity continues a professional pest control technician may be required. Also discuss this option with owner property managers.
**This will be reviewed in 3 months, or at next scheduled inspection.
