STAFFING: 12070 - CCLR s.19(1)(d) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (d) copies of any diplomas, certificates or other evidence of the person's training and skills.
Observation: The Licensee's ECE Certificate is expired (Sept 26, 2023), the Licensee said a renewal application was submitted to the ECE Registry 2 months prior to the expiry date and has since followed up with the Registry.
Corrective Action(s): Please have a system to ensure renewals of Certificates are applied for at an appropriate time.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19060 - CCLR s.57(1)(a)(b)(c) - A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).
Observation: Review of 5 children's file observed 2 were incomplete and missing the registration documentation, there was consent to medical care, parents information, emergency contact and immunization.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure children's files are complete prior to child attending.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation: Review of attendance records noted 1 day where a child was not signed out and 1 day where all children were not signed out.
Corrective Action(s): Please ensure attendance records are documented with the time that children depart the facility.

RECORDS AND REPORTING: 19210 - CCLR s.58(1)(a) - A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.
Observation: Licensing observed an allergy posted on the wall, review of the child's file indicated that a care plan was not created for the child, however the Licensee is aware of the allergy and the steps that are required if an emergency arise, medication is available on site and easily accessible.
