Introduction

An unscheduled/scheduled routine inspection was conducted to assess compliance with the Community Care and Assisted Living Act (CCALA), the Child Care Licensing Regulations (CCLR) and the relevant Director of Licensing Standards of Practice (DLSP). All areas of the facility were inspected for compliance.

Contraventions
Previous Inspection -
Current Inspection - Items reviewed comply with the Act, regulations & standards of practice.

Observed Violations
No violations were found during the inspection.

Comments

At the inspection dated November 27, 2019 there were 4 children present with the Licensee. Licensee's family member was present to assist with art activity and has a CRC. At this inspection the above noted contraventions were identified or no contraventions were identified. Actions required by the licensee and actions required the LO included here. As part of this Routine Inspection a Facility Risk Assessment Tool is completed and a copy is provided.
Minor Incident Log
A review of the minor incident log book indicated that the Licensee documents notification to parents of any minor incidents. A reminder to ensure sub staff document how parents are notified of any minor incidents involving their child as one entry did not indicate parent notification information. Licensee advised that notification in this instance would have been verbal, however, not documented.
Emergency Supplies
Emergency supplies are available. It is recommended that a method be in place to ensure supplies can be easily transported if off site evacuation is needed. Current method would be challenging to manage with potentially 7 children in care as supplies would be heavy to carry along with managing children. Discussed obtaining a wheeled container for easier transport.
The following education/recommendations will be provided and were reviewed at the time of this inspection:
Lead in the Water
Reportable Incident Bulletin
